Clean filters on a schedule you never think about
Baffle filters are the first line of grease defense — and the first thing kitchens fall behind on. Loaded filters choke airflow, push grease deeper into the duct, and are the first thing a health or fire inspector pulls out to look at.
On our exchange program we arrive on schedule, swap your filters for a clean deep-washed set, take the dirty set away, and track sizes and condition. Damaged or warped filters get flagged and replaced before they fail an inspection.
Scope
How the exchange works
Scheduled swap
Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly exchange matched to your cooking volume — the cadence is set once and runs on its own.
Off-site deep cleaning
Filters are soaked and pressure-washed off site, far beyond what a dish pit can do, and returned to rotation.
Sizing and replacement
Wrong-size and damaged filters are the norm in kitchens we take over. We measure, standardize, and replace as needed.
Condition tracking
Each visit is logged, so you can show an inspector exactly when filters were last exchanged.
Why A Program
Small line item, outsized payoff
Airflow restored
Clean baffles keep capture velocity where the hood design needs it — less smoke in the kitchen, less grease in the duct.
Staff time back
Nobody on your crew scrubs filters at midnight. The clean set just appears.
Always inspection-ready
The filter an inspector pulls is never the one that got skipped this week.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should hood filters be cleaned or exchanged?
High-volume kitchens: weekly. Moderate volume: every two weeks. Lower volume: monthly. Loaded filters choke airflow and push grease into the duct, so the right cadence depends on what and how much you cook — we set it during the first visit.
Why use an exchange program instead of washing filters in-house?
Dish-pit washing rarely removes baked-in grease, and the job reliably gets skipped on busy weeks. On exchange, a professionally deep-cleaned set arrives on schedule and the dirty set leaves with us — no staff time, no skipped weeks, no degraded filters.
Do you replace damaged or missing filters?
Yes. Warped, corroded, and wrong-size baffles are the norm in kitchens we take over — they let grease bypass the filter entirely. We measure every slot, standardize sizes, and replace damaged units as part of the program.
Does filter exchange replace hood cleaning?
No. Filters catch a large share of grease but the hood, plenum, and duct still accumulate buildup and need certified NFPA 96 cleaning on schedule. The exchange program slows that buildup and keeps airflow strong between cleanings.

Ghost Kitchens Are Booming in the DMV — Their Maintenance Is a Nightmare Nobody Talks About
Ghost kitchens promised lower overhead and faster launches. What nobody mentioned was the ventilation, HVAC, and maintenance reality of running a high-output kitchen in a space that was never designed for one.

How Often Should Commercial Kitchen Hoods Be Cleaned?
How often commercial kitchen hoods must be cleaned isn't one number — NFPA 96 sets four frequency tiers plus a grease-depth trigger most operators have never heard of. Here's how to find your category and what DMV fire marshals actually expect.
